  4. The Infinity CD ROM contains three additional programs...

  7. Midi Quest v8.0 Demo
  8. To install this demo, run SETUP.EXE from the MQV7DEMO folder of the CD ROM.

  11. SQ Midi Tools Demo
  12. To install this demo, run SETUP.EXE from the SQMTDEMO folder of the CD ROM
  13.

  15. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.0
  16. To install this software, run ACREADER.EXE from the PDF folder 
  17. of the CD ROM. This folder also contains a file OBJREF.PDF 
  18. which contains all of the information for each of the 
  19. Infinity objects. You can use this file to print out sections 
  20. of the manual at your leisure.

  33. Audio Card Warnings
  34. -------------------

  36. This portion is used to report any special setup requirements for various Audio cards
  37.  
  38. Yamaha SW1000XG
  39.  
  40.   This card does not function properly with small buffer sizes. As a result, you must
  41.   set the following parameters before opening up an audio port on this card:
  42.  
  43.   Edit/Preferences/Advanced Audio - Buffer Size = 256, Sub Buffering = 16
  44.  
  45.   If you attempt to open an audio port before making these settings, most likely the port
  46.   will not open properly and audio will not work. In order to recover the audio port,
  47.   you must reboot your computer.

  50. Sound Blaster Live

  52.   If you are using a Sound Blaster with APS drivers, use the WAVE drivers instead of the
  53.   DirectSound drivers. The DirectSound drivers produce a noticable level of background noise
  54.

  61. Following are the differences between the demo version of Infinity and the full version:
  62.  
  63. 1) The demo version runs for 45 minutes then shuts down. It can be run multiple times
  64. 2) The demo version will not save patches
  65. 3) The demo version includes two of the instruments and effects included with the full 
  66.    version of Infinity. They can be found in the SQPatches folder.
  67. 4) The demo version does not include the CALs included in the full version
  68. 5) The demo does not include the VST, VSTi, DXi, DirectX and MFX plugin versions of Infinity
  69. 6) The demo does not include the Infinity Player
  70. 7) The demo does not include the sample patches for each object. You can view screen shots
  71.    of each of these exmples in the  help file but they are not available to download
  72.  
  73. The entire introduction to Infinity is contained within the help file and it is laid out
  74. as a series of tutorials. This is your best place to learn about the software and its
  75. powerful capabilities. Start at the beginning and work through the various tutorials. 
  76. Of course, you can also learn about Infinity by making use of the context sensitive 
  77. help and roughly 400 example files included with the software.
